The Challenge: Heating and cooling for mezzanine level offices

New offices being constructed on a mezzanine level inside the depot in Chadderton, Manchester required an efficient heating and cooling system to ensure the comfort and safety of employees. The building is used by one of the UK’s leading suppliers of plant, tools and specialist equipment hire for the construction, events and infrastructure markets.

Fast, reliable and professional installation

Cool & Heat attended on-site to carry out a detailed survey of the project. The team then designed, planned and costed the work, matching an existing specification, and mobilised to meet the project delivery requirements. From the date of the initial survey, the installation team was on site within 14 days.

Reduced running costs and reliability are key requirements for this office air conditioning system. The Midea air conditioning units selected by Cool & Heat for this application offer enhanced performance combined with a simple design ensuring ease of operation, maintenance and cleaning. These A++ rated units guarantee efficient and cost-effective operation for office heating systems and cooling purposes. Ultra-quiet operation and a dual purification system absorb particles and bacteria to supply fresh, clean air for staff working in the building.

The installation embraces developing technology too. The Midea units are Amazon Alexa and Bluetooth compatible to provide ultimate ease of use.

The work on site was completed within a four day period, working both day and night shifts to ensure this busy plant hire office suffered minimal disruption to working processes.

Matching performance requirements

Working with an existing outline specification for the project created some issues for Cool & Heat, and the team quickly recognised that the original job specification created by a third party would struggle to meet the client’s requirements.

Further assessments were made and intrusive diagnostic checks found further faults to the system that were previously not picked up by the previous contractor. These were rectified to ensure the completed project matched both performance and cost challenges to provide an optimal solution fit for purpose into the future.

The project was completed on time and to budget, with the team working onsite within three days of approval of the quote.
